Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data iamalexc.com ("AlexC", "we") collects, why, and what you can do about it. AlexC is the pen name of an independent author and developer, an individual based in Vietnam, who is responsible for the data described here.

1. What we collect

• Email sign-ups: your email address (and first name if you give it) when you ask for a free sample, plus whether you agreed to receive our emails and when.
• Orders: your name, email address, country, the products you bought, prices and order IDs. Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments; we never receive or store your full card number.
• Email activity: whether our emails were delivered, opened or clicked, so we can stop sending to people who do not want them and fix problems.
• Support messages: anything you send us by email.
• Technical data: basic logs such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability, and privacy-friendly page statistics that do not use advertising cookies.

2. Why we use it

• To deliver what you asked for: the free sample, your purchases, download links and receipts (contract).
• To send you our emails if you opted in (consent). Every email has an unsubscribe link and you can withdraw consent at any time.
• To answer support requests, handle refunds and prevent fraud (contract and legitimate interest).
• To measure which pages and emails help people and improve them (legitimate interest).
• To meet legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who processes it for us

• Dodo Payments — checkout, payment processing, invoicing, tax (Merchant of Record).
• Cloudflare — website hosting, security and our order database.
• Resend — sending emails.
• Gumroad / Leanpub — only if you buy an ebook on those stores; their own privacy policies apply.

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. They are bound by contracts and their own privacy and security commitments.

4. How long we keep it

• Email list data: until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal record that you unsubscribed so we do not email you again.
• Order records: as long as tax and accounting rules require (usually up to 10 years).
• Support emails: up to 3 years after the conversation ends.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, or to withdraw consent. Email hello@iamalexc.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU/UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

6. Cookies

The website does not use advertising cookies. Checkout pages run by Dodo Payments may use cookies that are needed for payment and fraud prevention. If we add advertising pixels in the future, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it and update this policy.

7. Children

Our products are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
